The Project

"Film is a powerful tool to expose injustice, galvanize action and hold the powerful accountable."

A Voice for Innocent Defendants

Our organization, The Innocent Convicts, empowers innocent defendants by giving them a voice through film, public arts, and civic engagement. Wrongfully imprisoned individuals often find themselves in perilous circumstances, witnessing their families suffer due to an unjust system.

We stand alongside innocent defendants in their fight against severe penalties imposed for crimes they did not commit. The Innocent Convicts Film Project serves as a platform to shed light on the stories of individuals like Tim Cole, a Texas Tech Student and Army Veteran, who tragically lost his life when his medication was withheld during wrongful incarceration.

We're proud to announce that principal photography has been completed for the first six episodes of our film project, featuring the stories of Tim Cole, Audrey Edmunds, Uriah Courtney, Mike Hansen, Lamont McKoy, and The Monfils Six.
