About the event

At The Innocent Convicts, we are dedicated to advocating for the rights and freedom of innocent individuals wrongly incarcerated in federal, state, and local prisons. Through the powerful mediums of film, public arts, and civic engagement, we shed light on the suffering faced by these victims and their families, who endure severe penalties for crimes they never committed.

One of our flagship initiatives, "The Innocent Convicts" documentary film, serves as a poignant exposé of the root causes and repercussions of wrongful convictions. This compelling documentary delves into numerous cases across the United States, including the heartbreaking story of Tim Cole, a Texas Tech student and Army Veteran who tragically lost his life while fighting for his freedom due to further injustices, notably the withholding of essential medication during his wrongful incarceration.

Principal photography for the first six episodes of "The Innocent Convicts" is now complete. We have conducted interviews and captured compelling footage in various locations, including Texas, North Carolina, California, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, where we explore the stories of individuals like Tim Cole, Audrey Edmunds, Uriah Courtney, Mike Hansen, Lamont McCoy, and the Monfils Six.
